Vareth sits on one of the benches of the porch, his face shadowed by his ever present hood. His over robe is covered in mud and is nearly soaked through. Darker patches hint at recent blood stains. Vareth himself simply stares out into the dark and the rain.

Reginald comes out of the Tavern at a brisk pace with Alyssa on his heels. He steps out in to the rain and turns his head a little.
"I'm heading to the trade hall to prepare, if you need me I'll be there. If you need any potions or flasks, I'll be there. Death can leave a funny taste in your mouth, drinks are on the house for you and your buddy."
They wait for a response, if none is given Reginald nods and heads out.

*Arianna can be seen in the back corner of the porch, a dim light shining from her flower holy symbol allowing her to read a small letter. When she is done, she folds the letter carefully and places it in her right side belt pouch, a heavyhearted look on her face.*

Vareth simply gives an absent nod to Reginald as he walks through.

Coming out to the porch both hands filled Tyree eyes the other man sitting alone. Placing one of the mugs beside the cloaked figure the former farmer takes a seat nearby. "I found some spices and some old wine its not the best but it will take the chill out of you." Taking a sip from his own cup, "Sometimes it helps to talk about it."

"Talking about it wont make the problem go away." *Arianna says, still in her corner of the porch.*

His face still a cross between a frown and a scowl he takes the mug and sips from it. He grimaces at the taste, but holds the mug with both hands to savor the warmth.
"You were not kidding, this is terrible."
He lets out a slight chuckle and his face clears for a moment, but the frown is back rather swiftly.
"A lot of people are about to die because of me."

"Maybe I missed something. How is this your fault?"

Vareth doesn't bother to glance at Arianna as he replies, clutching the mug for all it is worth.
"Everyone listened to me because I figured out where they were coming from. We could have sent a scout, not antagonized them into an attack and been prepared. I am not simply blaming myself for nothing...I am too smart for that."

"Do you really believe that a scout would have been able to come back from that?"

Keeping his eyes on the rain, "Having the information you had, not what you know now would you honestly have done anything differently. Be honest with yourself, and know this you didnt force any of us to go, we went knowing the risk."

"True. We all went knowing we could have died. Every time we go out on the battlefield, we know that we have a chance to die, yet we go and fight anyways. Like it or not, we would have eventually gone there. I think it is better that we did it sooner. If not, there could have been more."

Vareth just shakes his head at their words, taking a long pull of his drink.
"I shouldn't be involved in these sorts of things. Reading about something doesn't make me qualified to do it. I need to remember my place."

"You gave us the information you had. It's not like you withheld information or forgot. We made the decision to go, we could have just as easily stayed home and had tea."

"I disagree my friend for your first time out you did well, you were coherent and clear and from what I hear you were trying to cover people when you went down. My friend that wins you points in my book. Ive seen hardened soldiers break and run when facing those kinds of odds. Any one who is willing to help his comrades in that situation is some one I would gladly go into combat with again. If you are uncomferatble with being in charge thats fine no man should were that mantle lightly." Taking a sip "but thats no longer the issue the three of us need to be prepaired to back up the others, to that end we need to make our plans, and I need to show you how to sling that spell I gave you."
