Walking from the direction of the docks and obviously having arrived on the same boat as the monk, a human male makes his way into the tavern. He is dressed in what is obviously the robes of a mage, the colors a neutral grey and green although they have seen better days. With a weary sigh he seats himself at the bar and waits to be noticed.

Reginald comes over the holy symbol of Deleck plain to see, bartender's apron clean.. "Welcome to The Raven's Nest. What can i get you to drink."

The mage's eyes linger for a long moment on the symbol of Daleck before he reaches into a threadbare purse, pulling out a lone coin.
"Something cheap, I suppose. A ship's passage is expensive for a young mage."

"New faces are welcome here. Normally is's three silver. You can pay that off by telling me your name and business in our cute little port town. Thats worth the other two. One silver plus that, and we're even."

The mage's eyes narrow a bit before nodding and responding.
"Information is always worth more than coin. It is indeed my preferred method of trade. I have a horde of it that the richest noble could not match in their precious silver. My name is Vareth. Vareth Nar. My business here is growing my preferred riches. I can only imagine what is waiting to be found here so close to the elves."

"That's good enough for me. Whiskey, ale, mead? I've got some coffee from the desert here if you prefer."

A slight smile reaches the mage's face.
"I have not had coffee in a long time. It helped out quite a bit in the academy. Tell me, are you not worried about showing that..."
He nods towards the holy symbol of Dalek.
"So openly around here?"

"Coffee it is. My holy symbol? Why on earth would i hide it? I am but a humble healer and bartender. Everyone knows me here. Reginald Coinspinner.". Reginald sets the coffee to brewing. The faint smell of vanilla fills the small pub.

Vareth gives a small chuckle.
"Ambition is as much a part of life as breathing, but back home others might not have kind words to say about that. How odd that on the edge of civilization there is more wisdom to be had. I cannot say I am surprised."

"We are very pragmatic here, at least while the goblins pose a threat to us all. I have done nothing but serve the militia to the best of my abilities while here. By healing or drink. You mentioned knowledge, is there anything in particular your looking for?"

*Arianna rides back into town. She stops by her home and several halflings exit to help her unpack. When they are done, one of the halflings takes the horse back to the stables while Arianna makes her way to Reggie's tavern.*
*Upon arrival, Arianna sits at the bar, her fiery skirt draping down the side. Her color splashed whit tabard is dirty as well as the rest of her clothes.*
"Can I get something nonalcoholic Reggie?" she asks and places three silver on the table.

"Excuse me a moment Vareth. Of course you may Arianna,'' the coins vanish and a tall glass of fruit punch appears. Reginald returns to the newcomer.

*Arianna mumbles and her clothes become clean with a small flash of magic. She then looks over to the newcomer.* "Hello. Welcome to Hevard Port." she says, running her index finger around the edge of her glass.

Vareth remains quiet when Arianna arrives, watching her intensely and seeming especially interested at her cantrip. He gives her a polite nod after a moment and then turns back to Reginald.
"The elves and their kin are masters of magics, both those of light and of darkness. I'll not discount anything I find. To have specifics in mind for a strange place would only lead to disappointment, I imagine."

Reginald turns his attention back to the newcomer. "Many ruins dot the land here. I'll be more than happy to hear what magics interest you and point you in those directions once you have your ground legs back."
