"Bouncing idea's off Aelorn's a good idea, but first let's bounce them here. It wouldn't be possible to get rid of all shadows. Blades of grass and our feet throw shadows large enough for him to jump through."

Renarin looks around the room at those gathered and ponders a moment.
"We seem to have several individuals who are capable of casting light, which I believe to be a very easy spell for mages to cast? Is there a way to prevent light, perhaps a darkness spell?"
Renarin then looks towards Vareth as he takes a sip of his drink.
"What about illusions to cover up any shadows that are around? Is that something that you may be able to perform Vareth?"

"Light is one of the very first spells mages learn, after you master it, it is very easy to cast repeatedly. The thing you have to remember is that the brighter the room, the darker the shadows. If he is in an actual room, this may be a viable idea, but if he is on the battle field, it is not. In a room, you can illuminate every wall, the ceiling, and the floor making it to where a shadow cannot be cast. The closest we could do on a battle field is to fight at high noon, where less shadow is cast, but a shadow is still there."

"We discussed this idea already. We can't possibly cover every shadow, and baitng him is right out. besides, once he realizes what we're doing he'll just laugh and leave."

Vareth looks thoughtful.
"If we can't stop him from leaving, we need to anticipate where he will go. If we split our forces in two and have a group waiting there we may be able to take him."

A loud cracking noise suddenly echoes in the room as though a chair leg snapped, but no one has fallen.
Suddenly you notice Aelorn is standing there with you all, looking around as though attempting to get his bearings. He turns to Reginald.
"Is this your pub Reginald?"

Reggie's head snaps up at the sudden crack. Words of a spell from and vanish once he sees Aelorn.
"Yes...it is. Though most people use the door? Welcome to the Raven's Nest. How many I help you? We're discussing Toth."

"Well, I didn't intend to visit, not exactly. If I did, I would have used the door. Right now, I'm working out the rules of the portal."
Aelorn takes a seat.
"But since I'm here, I'll have a glass of wine."

Reggie walks to the bar and pours Aelorn a glass of Elven. He brings it back and sits quickly with the others.
"We're trying to figure out a way to keep Toth in his current body. I think we're over thinking things, that's the one problem we have. Lighting up the area is a good idea, but there are a few large flaws. Simple way of thinking, but not the right path I fear. Everyone needs to understand that we CAN NOT allow him to run away, if we do we lose. We have to keep him on the field. Finding him won't be an issue, he'll find us for sure."

Aelorn nods and sips his wine as he listens.
"Everything sounds right so far. I was able to keep him at bay with light, trapping him with light is a sound path. What are your large flaws?"

Paedrig looks to aelorn "the problem that we are seeing is that light can create the very shadows that he steps through."

Vareth looks thoughtfully at Aelorn, and makes a few more notes on his papers.
"In order to use the light spell to make a space without shadows we would have to set up an area ahead of time and then lure Toth there. We are all skeptical about being able to do so."

Renarin looks surprised by the sudden appearance of Aelorn, his hand hovering over his blade. He then calms somewhat and regards Aelorn.
"You say you are working out the rules of the portal, by this do you mean the portals that Toth uses? I cannot imagine that there is something, or someone, that Toth desires which means we may be able to lure him to somewhere of our choosing. Does anyone know anything about who this goblin was before he became this creature we are all scared of?"

"We're not sure how large a shadow he needs to step though is the largest issue. Another issue is how could we bait him. We'd have to set up the field before hand, because once he realizes what we're doing it's not like he'll stick around. Were there any shadow's in your workshop? Any at all? *To Renarin* "Toth was a chief of sorts, he found a statue made in the image of Buru, inside that statue was the death progenitor. He took it, kept it, and when he died it either merged with his soul, which I doubt, or absorbed it and it thinks it IS toth. Vugara knows the legend, I think Feydra took notes on the Goblin matron's telling of it."

"Why is it every time I have the answer to something it gets ignored? I pointed out the apples represented Lifefruit, and I was ignored, I mentioned the tumbler lock changed with the day, and I was told to shut up, I said we should use the Light spell, and it gets ignored until Aelorn says it was what he used." *Arianna shakes her head* "Sometimes I don't know why I even bother to speak up."
