Handing the Gate guard a token, the Dark Elf known as Ruann is escorted from the gate to the Militia HQ where he requests an audience with Lord Gaverek.
The two speak in private for some time, until Gaverek's voice can be heard, saying one word aloud and firm, "No."
Gaverek escorts the dark elf from his office, passing an order to one of the captains outside, who rushes off. The lord then turns to the dark elf ambassador, "Come with me, I want to show you something."
Confused but accommodating, Ruann follows Lord Gaverek as the town leader makes small talk about different store fronts and landmarks as they walk past. Finally, the two reach the town gate, and Gaverek states, "This it it!"
Ruann replies, "This is the town gate."
Gaverek request's the dark elf's token from the gate guard, drops it on the ground and crushes the porcelain charm under his boot.
"It is, and walking through it now will be the last time you'll do so in safety." Gaverek gestures to the archers who've assembled on the wall, all arrows trained on Ruann.
"You can tell your empress that I will not be party to her attempts at slavery, whether they be Daarvena-Su or surface dweller. Trade with your people is not worth my soul." Gaverek turns and walks back towards the militia HQ while Ruann fumes.
"If you can still see him in 30 seconds, feel free to loose as many arrows as you can nock." Gaverek commands, keeping stride.
Ruann looks around, seeing a regiment of militia eyeing him coldly, and heads off quickly into the countryside, disappearing from sight only a hundred yards from the gate.
