The Farmer opens the door and enters timidly, though some part of his demeanor seems agitated. He seems smaller and less imposing than the last time he was seen at his farm, but at least in his face he has a better color and look of health.
He waits near the door watching people move the tables around until he is recognized.

"Hello Dominic, what can we do for you? . Here have a seat."
Reggie leans back agianst the bar. Holy symbol out as always, and right hand empty. He uses it gesture at the bar stool.

After a second Reggie pours a glass of water and turns back around.
"Water?"

Dominic sits where Reggie suggests, and takes the offered water and then a sip. He swallows hard before speaking.
"I came to apologize for my actions. I know its not much, but I am sorry I attacked you and your company the last time you visited my farm."

"Apology accepted providing you tell me how you are here. I don't want offend you, but time is short. Goblins are almost at our gates, and I am not the type to sugar coat anything. I didn't think demons let their charges wander around? No offense meant, but if we can get the unpleasantness out of the way, we can move on to how I can help you. Just tell me everything, how you came to the sword and the new farm hands. We know the why, just fill me in on all the other unknowns."

Dominic takes another, longer drink from the glass of water, then begins.
"Well, I guess it started a little while after they brought my daughter's remains back. My wife went to stay with her parents while she was grieving. My grief turned to anger, and I began cursing the gods and all of you... and the troglodytes. I wanted to kill them all. One day a traveler stopped by the farm late at night, and before I knew it I was telling him everything. He had the sword, and he offered it to me, if I was willing to wield it. It looked so expensive, I figured even if I couldn't kill the trogs with it, I could sell it and build a safer home for my family. But when I picked it up..."
The farmer trails off and takes another slow sip of his water.
"I didn't feel like I was wielding the blade, I felt like it was wielding me. It made me very powerful, I think, but my memory from then on is hazy. I remember slaughtering the troglodytes... I did terrible things to them, I think I tortured them. I remember the farmhands arriving and going to work. I remember praying in the basement, but I never had a basement. I remember you and your company showing up, and I remember hating you all, especially the halfling woman, with a passion. I remember we started to fight. I think you killed me. After that I just remember standing in my farm field, looking at the burnt remains of my house."
Dominic sighs deeply, and puts his glass of water down.
"I camped in my yard for a few days, then one of the militia messengers rode by, and told me everyone needed to retreat into town, because the goblin army was attacking. I spent an hour trying to decide whether to go north or south. A few hours later, I was here."

"You hungry? More water?"
If Dominic says yes, Reggie gets some soup and more water.
"I am sorry for what happened last year, I know what that hate is like."
Reggie's eyes grow a little distant and he rubs his holy symbol a little, for just a moment.
"Who did you pray to? Think really hard and take your time if you need to. It may be important. Describe the stranger if you can, and did he give you a name? This stranger just gave you the sword? Didn't make you sign a contract, you didn't agree to anything other than taking the sword? You weren't in control of yourself at least, that's a good start. Did the sword have a name? Sorry for the barrage of questions, but like I said Goblin Horde coming. I've got more questions, but I'll understand if you need a few minutes."

Dominic gestures 'no thank-you' to the offer of soup and water.
"I sometimes pray to Colsen, for a good harvest, for the safety of my family. My wife had a garden she devoted to Maya, and sometimes when I brought in some goods to sell at market I would toss a silver into the coffers at the temple of Deleck. If you want to know who I prayed to to avenge my daughter, I didn't. I cursed the gods, and you, and everything, like I said."
"I don't remember the stranger very well. He was a man, maybe human, no name I can recall. He wore a hood and common cloths. After he handed me the sword, I don't even know if he stayed or left. He could have been one of the demonic farmhands for all I know. There was no contract, but I know when I had the sword, there was a voice in my head, and I had to follow the orders I was given to keep the power."
"The sword did have a name, I think it had a title too. I think It was Kar... Karl-something. I can't remember. I understand you having questions, and I want to help you, I owe you that much, but with the goblins coming, I should also see if my wife and her family are alright."
Dominic looks at the door, then back to Reggie, and awaits his response.

"One more question, do you repent you actions. All of it?"

"If I wasn't sorry, I wouldn't have come to apologize."

"I'll be in touch. May Deleck bless you with fortune."
Reginald walks Dominic to the door. Offers his hand the shake, and says "Goodbye."

"Please pass along my apologies to your friends. I truly am sorry. Good-bye."
With that Dominic leaves the pub and heads off down the street.
