Renarin walks into the pub and makes his way towards the bar and sits at a stool. He lets out a long sigh as he rests his weary body. He looks up towards Reginald and shakes his head and chuckles.
"So we defeat one great evil and we may be facing a whole new one already. I wonder if there is some secret meeting these beings attend so that they can time everything just right so we don't get any sleep or relaxation."
Renarin stretches his back and turns to gaze around the bar, nodding his head at any patrons he recognizes.
"Do you think we face something new, after the information Vareth gave us about Mage's hall? I know we all want to help Zimm, I only hope he allows us the opportunity to do so."
Renarin sighs again and shakes his head.
"As they say, sadly, you can lead a horse to water..."

Reginald nods and smiles a little sadly.
"Well it could gave been Toth, but I doubt it. We'll find out what this new threat is soon enough. For now we should enjoy peace for as long as it lasts. The Island is still largely unexplored, no telling what waits for us. Drink? I should think once ZIMM calms down, we'll be able to find out more."

Vareth follows somewhat soon behind Renarin. The mage sets aside his staff and sinks into a chair.
"Can a construct calm down? If he was ever alive, it is my fault bringing the death of his children. If he was never alive I feel horrible for no logical reason."

"Zimm will tell us what attacked him. Either it was Toth and problem solved, restitutions will be made, or it was something else and he'll need our help. When he's ready, or repaired, he'll let us know. The chance we woke something up, or alerted something that secrets where indeed there had to have gotten out. Rune scribeing was rediscovered there."

Renarin nods in agreement with Reginald.
"Yes, a drink would be nice. Also, you bring up a good point. This island isn't well explored and documented. I would love to form an exploration team to go out and make some expeditions into the unknown areas. Perhaps I should speak with Lord Gavrik about that."
Renarin scowls when he turns to look at Vareth.
"Stop being an idiot, you can't blame yourself for what happened at the old Mage's academy. Zimm knew about Toth, and I am sure the knowledge was mutual. That being said, he could have as easily taken his children somewhere other than a prime target for raiding and keep them shrouded there. Your concern for him was commendable, he just happened to be acting like an idiot at the time and wanted to blame anyone other than himself for what was happening. We will find him and once again offer our help. However, we are not responsible in any way for what happened to him and his family...we made an attempt to rally forces with him but he spat in our faces. Just remember that Vareth. You are a stronger individual because you still care and wish to help him even after his immature actions.

Vareth shakes his head, looking intently at Renarin. It is as if he means more than just the words he is saying.
"Everything I care for goes foul. You know that. That place was a haven. It reminded me of the only home I ever had. And I ruined it simply by being there."
Vareth places his head in his hands.

Reginald grabs a drink and returns,
"Enjoy the end of the war. There is nothing we can do about what's been done. He'll come around. Go work with or for Aelorn for a while. He might be willing to trade spells for work done. You never know."

Renarin frowns and places a hand on Vareth's shoulder.
"You know what you say is a misconception. You are a valued individual and together, we have helped to end a war here. We are building a new home and new connections. This person you called friend, and the haven you built surrounding that friendship, will either be restored or wasn't worth the effort. Your actions were just and were a way for you to help. You are not skilled in clairvoyance or foresight, you had no way of knowing that there would be a watcher waiting outside. Zimm's fall could as easily have been prevented by accepting our proffered hand and aid. We can never know what the future holds, so do not bemoan when something doesn't turn out as expected."
Renarin takes his drink, and sips it as he sits beside Vareth in a sign of companionship.

As Renarin speaks it is as if for a moment Vareth's expression had been just a mask that slipped, showing a wellspring of grief, anger and anguish. He stares at his friend mutely, shaking his head as he finishes speaking.
"They...actions...yes, it was worth the effort. And will be."

*Arianna step into the tavern, a book in hand. She walks over to the missive board and carefully tacks up a small piece of parchment. She then takes a seat at one of the tables and begins reading through her book.*

Reggie walks over to read the missive, turns a few moments later, and looks at Ariana.
"Thank you Ariana, would you like a drink?"

"You're welcome. And yes please, the fruity drink if you have it." *Arianna continues to read her book, it looks as tho she is skimming the pages to get to an interesting part or could be catching just a few key phrases.*

"Is there any information on contracts that require you to bring more people, and involve grueling tests."
