This combo was brought up at the last event, and I've taken some time to think about it.
Against a non-intelligent foe, the gaseous form effect would be essentially the same as invisibility. The a non-intelligent target of taunt would not be able to tell the difference between the caster turning into a cloud of smoke and disappearing altogether. As such, against a beast or similar non-intelligent foe, the gaseous form would release the target from the Taunt effect.
Against an intelligent foe, the target would realize that the caster could not be harmed by physical damage. If not capable of casting spells or using elemental damage in some way, the target would stay in melee range of the caster, while defending himself as much as possible. The target may also attempt to use the caster as a shield, if possible.
Does that make sense?

Yes, but useing a gaseous formed person as a sheild vs bullets?...wouldn't they pass through? Or am I over thinking it?

Since a nerf bullet can't pass through a person, whether their character is in Gaseous Form or not, I am not inclined to try to marshal whether or not an IP bullet would have accurately passed through a gaseous form player and hit the target.
If you want an IP explanation, the gaseous form would grant some concealment to the target using the caster as a shield, and make it difficult, if not impossible to accurately shoot him with a gun.

Cool, just wanted a clarification for future players on that. I could see it cropping up.
